About me



Hello, my name is Michael, and I'd like to welcome you to my website, which features two of my passions in life—writing and coaching. Both of these things are guided by my heartfelt belief that life can and should be full of deep meaning and joy for each of us!
I believe that each individual has the desire—and the capacity—to create a life that lives up to their own definition of “meaningful.” However, the magic in life can sometimes disappear because of various challenges—high stress, trauma, an ill-fitting career, habitually negative thought patterns or self-talk, and various health challenges would be examples.
When life seems overly dull or threatening, or when it seems to simply be a pendulum that swings from boredom to high stress and anxiety, those are often signs that a breakthrough might be needed and might in fact be near.
One of my aims in coaching is to help people break through barriers and obstacles. I want to help them break through to better wellness, break through to greater personal growth, and break through any challenges that might be holding them back from creating a life that feels right for them and which provides contentment, good health and true meaning.
Sustainable and stable wellness, a productive thought life, and the ongoing creation of an authentic and fulfilling existence: these are things we can all reach for, and they are what I help my clients to find through coaching.
I first got involved in life & wellness coaching in 2018 after making a number of healthy transitions in my own life and then creating some content about them. Some of my transitions involved measures to improve physical health such as quitting cigarettes, quitting prescription medications, improving diet, becoming a runner, getting in better physical shape, and learning more about stress effects & management. Each of those changes did indeed aid my physical health, but ultimately all of them (and others) were in the service of a broader quest to make my life more meaningful and authentic, and to improve my holistic wellness so that my mental, emotional and spiritual health felt nurtured and connected to the physical aspect of things.
I returned to creative writing (some of which I feature on this site), and I undertook more personal spiritual study and explored new career paths.
In coaching I’ve worked with people from all over the globe to help facilitate and support their positive transitions and transformations. Oftentimes the biggest transformations in our lives are built by a series of little tweaks and goals. Big things happen over time, one step at a time, and with patience and determination.
Perhaps one of the most important things I've lived and realized is this: the darkest and most difficult times in life can be the most fertile ground for positive change, and indeed harbingers of good things to come.
If you are feeling stuck—maybe feeling a bit impatient—don’t get discouraged. There is always time to move in new directions, and there is always the opportunity to take the next step in a powerful direction. In fact, the next step just might be the most meaningful one, the one that brings you some much needed hope and a whole lot of positive momentum.
